The University of Pisa announces a public selection for the assignment of n. 1 r1 Postdoctoral Position: “Hidden voices: archaeometry applied to social history in ancient Egypt”

Contract duration: 12 months
Net monthly salary: € 1502,79
You will work within an interdisciplinary project PROCESS “Pharaonic Rescission: Objects as Crucibles of ancient Egyptian SocietieS”. The focus of the project is to reconstruct the social history of Ancient Egypt in the Middle Bronze Age, combining archaeometric analyses and archaeological data to extract a mass of information relating to social history.
The Postdoctoral fellow will carry out archaeometric analysis of ancient Egyptian objects of the Middle Bronze Age (2000-1550 BC) in targeted collections, in order to detect the trace of wear, composition and tool marks. The data extracted will be used to trace the social profile of the ancient makers (skills, technology, resource exploitation, etc.)
