Gabriele Mario Conte graduated in 2018 in Oriental Studies at the University of Pisa with a thesis entitled “The demons of disease in Ancient Egypt”. Subsequently, again in 2018, he won a doctoral scholarship at the same university with a project concerning the exorcistic practices of the Egyptian religion in the context of daily life. His interests are mainly philological, with particular attention to the Egyptian religion, its evolution and relations with near-eastern cults and practices.
