Riccardo Andreozzi graduated in 2019 in Oriental Studies, at the University of Pisa, with a thesis in Egyptology entitled “Herbariums and lists of plants: an investigation into botanical knowledge and their categories in ancient Egypt”. In the same year he won a doctoral scholarship at the same university with a research project aimed at identifying cultural transformations and transference in Greco-Roman Egypt in the field of plant culture, with a particular focus on the introduction of new species, on medical subjects. and the development of medical knowledge due to the interaction between the classical and the Egyptian world.

His interests focus mainly on the history of science (medical and botanical thought), on excavation archeobotany (macro-remains, coals) and on human-plant interactions.
